happy ending?
By pagsintang-pururot
I submitted a novel to this publisher a couple of months ago. I was hoping for the best (who wouldn’t?) because it took me difficult years before completing the novel. to add, that to be a published writer is my wildest dream in life.
and so a month had passed and finally, I received THE email from the publisher, saying that my novel is- for return.
in other words, REJECTED. the reason- the novel should be written in the third person, not the first, and that it has to have a happy ending.
my novel, according to them is okay. besides those ‘reasons’.
I just don’t get it. does a novel should always be told in the third person? and should it always have a happy ending?
