The appraisal
By swaksabaul
in any working environment, meron nito. this is the process of evaluating your performance, thus giving you the “grade” that you deserve, plus may kasama pang % dagdag sa sweldo. this can happen every 3 months, 6 months or depende kung ilang beses meron sa company na pinapasukan mo.
sometimes, you cant help yourself dispute the review given to you by your supervisor. they would give you several lame reasons on giving you such grades. nakakabadtrip especially when you know that
a. padrino mo yung sup mo, pero mababa pa rin ang rating mo… lahat ng utos, pakiusap or pacute sau ni sup eh sinunod mo na pero wala parin. you also tried to work as hard as you can pero dahil sa kclose kau ni sup (na lahat ng kilos mo ay alam niya) at para maiwasan ang anumang issue eh titirahin ka rin sa evaluation.
b. yung ka close ng sup mo eh mataas ang grade sau, kahit na work to death ka. let’s face it, meron ganito at hindi mawawalan ng ganito. period.
sa hindi sinasadyang pangyayari, i was able to talk to those who have had their evaluations accepted and saw their comments on their grading sheet.
employee 1: tol, tapos ka na ba sa appraisal?
employee 2: oo, badtrip nga kasi ang baba magbigay, aft.
employee 1: ano naman ang nirason sau?
employee 2: wala daw akong initiative. sabi ko kasi i was given not enough exposure kaya ganun ang reason ko why i gave myself that grade… sabi ba naman less exposure = less initiative.
employee 1: e pano kung hindi ka naman binibigyan ng enough exposure sa work? so wala na yun???
employee 2: ayoko na nga mag dispute. nilagay ko nalang sa comments box : no exposure doesnt mean you dont have the initiative. less exposure means
a. no one listened to your idea kaya deadma ka
b. you presented your idea pero nasapawan ka ng iba
c. you’re not one of the chosen few para gawin ang certain task, kaya yung mga inuuusan eh sila sila nalang.
so ngayon, how do you deal with this freaking appraisal? here are some tips:
a. start making deadma of your supervisor - initial reaction pero a very childish thing to do
b. accept the evaluation and magcomment ng sangkatutak sa scorecard. dun man lang eh makabawi ka
c. kung sadyang matapang ka eh you can file for dispute. yun nga lang be ready to answer all of the HOT questions that will be thrown to you by the manager.
d. magisip isip. baguhin ang d magandang working habits at piliting mag improve para ipamukha sa nagreview sau na mali ang decision na ginawa nia
e. matulog, kumain, magsulat ng blog para bukas, wala ka ng sama ng loob.
i just did letter e, tapos letter d na going forward!

May point talaga sa worklife mo na tinatamad ka na and you just doing your basic expectation without exerting any efforts for any other activities that will give recognition sau. I can say mga empleyadong nagstay sa work nila from 5 years and above na.
Siguro exhausted ka na lang sa routine mo so tama at magsulat ka na land dito sa kritik.
