Eating Adventure ng Pinoy sa Taiwan

By ka ernie

Another week another eating adventure but this time medyo kakaiba ang dating since the food were serve one at a time. In Taiwan I have this kind of dinner twice already, the other one is in Japanese Taipei restaurant. Though this is not the best dining I have but I can say I consider this better than ordinary.

The place is called Tasty and the price per dinner is fix at $NT499/head. Though the place when the time we came for dinner is a little bit crowded, the quality of food and the reasonable price makes the place ideal for family, lovers and friends. Anyway our reservations at 730PM didn’t allowed us to be sitted since we came a little bit early but when the time came it took us probably 40mins to complete our order. Wow at least I’m free from fast food. Imagine we are 10 people ordering 8 type of foods each person and each type of food you have options to pick from 2-3 kind of food. Magulo ba, oh well just continue reading?

Ok the first series of food that was serve is an appetizer “Shrimps and Asparagus”, after 15mins of waiting and 40 mins of taking our orders, it surely takes me 1min to finished the appetizer.

The next to be serve is an antipasto, when I check the dictionary antipasto is still consider as appetizer but mostly Italian type of food. I have “Italian Beef Pancake”, it’s like an small pizza which have sliced of beef, cheese and tomatoes.

Next is a salad, I order “Fresh Shrimps with Potatoes Salad”. Bukod sa masarap ay maganda rin ang presentation. Nobody is talking for a short period of time as in may dumaang anghel. Some of my friends order “Romaine Hearts Salad”, it is a just mix of seasonal fruits.

The 4th food to be served is the Soup wherein I pick “Pumpkin Soup with Albalone Mushroom”, sa Taiwan sikat ang kalabasa they can do anything sa kalabasa cake, bread and soup.

The main course is a steak, I pick the house specialty “Roasted TASTY Steak”. I remember somebody told me pagkakain ka ng steak order it medium rare so it is soft and juicy. Well dahil di ako maintindihan nung Taiwanese na waitress I just said “well done” hehehe.

Afterwards, they’ll serve “Sorbet” pang-alis suya. Sa mga taga-bundok ang sorbet ay hindeh sorbetes katulad nung una kong naisip. Inumin to na fruity flavor serve chill, isang lagukan lang pero medyo maasim so don’t take it straight.

Well finally Dessert came, “Vanilla Ice Cream in Chocolate bag” and my choice of drinks.  The chocolate bag is actually fried balat ng lumpia wherein ang laman ay pure chocolate. Ang gagawin mo ay bubutasin mo ung balat ng lumpia by biting it and then swirl it all over the vanilla ice cream. Well the hell with the rule, I eat the chocolate first before I finished the vanilla ice cream.

Well after that series of served food, syempre hihinga-hinga ako at sa mga Pinoy dito sa Taiwan especially sa may Hsin-chu area, you can try Tasty. Mumu na (as in mumurahin) at well presented pa syempre feeling mayaman ka pagkatapos mong kumain hehe. Kung baga sa basketball takbong mayaman pag naka-shoot ka ng basket.

Maganda rin ang lugar na ito sa mga Pinoy na nagtataksil sa kanya-kanyang mga asawa o kaya mga irog. Unang-una kasi nga impressive at same time di pa gaanung nadidiscover ng mga Pinoy so wala makakakita sa inyo dito. Parang tanda ko meron ganitong commandments which is “Thou shall not takes thy neighbors wife” pero when I check internet parang wala ng ganitong commandments. Well meron o wala nandito ka naman sa Taiwan so di mo na neighbor ang Pinas so abswelto ka na.

I rate Tasty 4.3322 out of 6.37859. And I rate those taking neighbors wife as “medium rare” soft and juicy.
