Cheapest flight Pinoy can offer
By ka ernie
My work now always end up flying frequently than before, for last year I travel to the USA, Malaysia and Taiwan. At since sa Asia ako ang nagbabayad ng airplane ticket ko, I make it a point to get the cheapest things possible. Dito ko natuklasan ang tungkol sa Cebu Pacific flights, nagsimula ako sa Cebu Pacific last year bandang August ng pumunta ako ng Kuala Lumpur for 2 months stay there. Company ko ang sumagot ng round trip ticket so I don’t know how much it cost pero after the Malaysia trip I went home to attend to my wife giving birth to our first and then after a week, fly na ulit me but this time sa Taiwan which ung papuntang fare ay sagot ng company but after that I will pay my fare every time gusto kong umuwi. When I arrived in Taipei bandang September yun at after mga 2 weeks stay in hostel somewhere in Taipei nag-set na ako ng pauwing flight at month of December para sa Christmas. So almost 3 months advance ay may flight na ako at syempre my prefer airline is Cebu Pacific.Â
Mostly ang nasasakyan kong airline ay ung pang-US so Northwest at mga alliances nila so nung first time ko nasakay sa Cebu Pacific nagulat ako kakaiba sila. First syempre sa flight attendant nila, syempre mga pinay beauties ang makikita mo pero they look informal on there yellow and orange combination polo shirt, khaki shorts/pants with matching garrison belt (remembering CAT days). Also inside there is no refreshment offer kahit isang maliit na plastic ng mani o pretzel ay wala but everything is for sale. They also have “bring me†game wherein they’re giving away stuffs and after that they will make rounds to sell it. I just hope airline don’t exploit there employee like that nakaka-degrade kung minsan lalo na sa mga flight attendants.Â
If Cebu Pacific sucks on refreshments and attendants attire, well bumawi naman sila sa cheap fare. Last December ng umuwi ako nakakuha lang ako ng round trip ticket from Taipei to Manila and vice versa for just 2850 NTD that’s equivalent to PHp3705, I didn’t actually pay attention to price breakdown nung panahon na yun para sa akin cheap na yun. But I plan to go back to Pinas again sa darating na June but to my dismay parang tumaas yata sila ng price, well 1-way lang ay it cost me PHp3838 na. When I study further ang breakdown ng 1-way fare ko it lools like this.

Well thanks again sa ating government mas malaki pa rin ang bayad sa kanila kesa sa mismong pamasahe sa eroplano. Siguro tactics na rin ito ng Cebu Pacific, they said we can offer a 1 peso trip to Cebu (I read somewhere else of this offer) but you have to pay everything we suppose to pay like tax, insurance and blah blah. It boils me again sa mga taxes na sinisingil sa atin ng gobyerno, hay I don’t want to start but it really piss me off. Anyway aside this increase in fare I still find Cebu Pacific my airline of choice not because of services, usual 1 hour delay of flights but because of there sucker bargains in cheap airline fare.Â
I will definitely book again and again sa Cebu Pacific because of this cheap price and hope Cebu continue to give Pinoy abroad a choice like this because we earn that hard money and we deserve to see our family as frequent as we can so sa inyo Cebu Pacific keep up that affordable fare and I will see you again 5J’s flight this June and I’ll definitely bring my own Baon before boarding.

Cebu Pacific is a “low cost” airline. Try to Google or Wikipedia it yourself, and learn what does a low cost airline has to offer. Think about, Tiger Airways, Air Asia, Soutwest Air, Delta.
You will have to purchase your snacks/refreshments, because the ticket that you purchased is not covering the snacks itself. Just the seat fare, tax, and fuel. No complimentary drinks, blankets, newspapers, pillows, your fancy toothbrushes, etc. So indeed, they sell their snacks. and it’s not that degrading at all. After all, they have the enough knowledge and they are trained to save you, right? Now you just have to comply. :)
Cebu Pacific used to have a full service on board. That is if you are still willing to pay to a much higher price. They opted to be a low cost airline, so that everybody could fly. And not just giving the privilege of flying to those who has “moolah.”
The flight attendants doesn’t wear khaki shorts. They are skirts. They look like shorts because they have a slit and pleats in front.
Delays. Where in the world can’t you find an airline that doesn’t have delays? Filipinos are the only ones who would always complain about it. Other western airlines would have days (D-A-Y-S) to let their passengers wait. It happens. It’s normal. Remember it’s not just the passengers who are getting tired, and worried, and babbling all the time. It’s a chain reaction. Everybody’s involved.
And besides, you wouldn’t be that much hungry on a one hour flight would you? :)
